Mischief Managed

One simply siphons the excess thoughts from one's mind, pours them into the basin, and examines them at one's leisure. It becomes easier to spot patterns and links, you understand, when they are in this form.

Dam Christmas

This year my family didn’t really celebrate Christmas. There’s only four of us in Auckland anyway, so it’s a bit hard to have a big family gathering. Plus, we’re poor and lazy. I’m not sure why, but I haven’t really cared about celebrations all year. Usually I’ll know exactly what I want for my birthday and Christmas, but this year I didn’t ask my parents for any presents. I still had a nice day though. I slept in and then I went for a bush walk with my Mom and Dad to a dam.

We took our dogs along and one of them managed to find three tennis balls throughout the walk.

On our way we stopped at a few waterfalls. My dogs are crazy and were running up and down the steep cliffs.

This was the bigger water fall. It made me feel like swimming, but apparently you’re not supposed to swim in our drinking water…

The walls alongside the gravel path had heaps flowers growing on them.

After about 45 minutes we reached the dam. It’s so cool to look on one side and see all this water, then look on the other side to see a giant drop. What if it burst?!

I wish I could have gone down the stairs to the bottom. Overall, it was a nice walk and the only downside was getting hay fever yet again.
